Mountain Minis Bike Basics
This class is designed for kids who are new to riding a bike or who are still building confidence with bike-riding skills. In a fun, supportive environment, children will practice the building blocks of bike riding, including pushing and gliding, balance, steering, starting and stopping safely, and learning how to feel more comfortable on a bike.
This class is a great fit for children who are using a Strider bike, transitioning toward a pedal bike, or needing extra practice before riding more independently. Kids will build strength, coordination, body awareness, and confidence alongside same-aged peers through playful activities and skill-based practice.
Classes are led by pediatric physical therapist Dr. Erika Barger, PT, DPT, PCS and occupational therapist, Alaina Belser, OTR/L, who will help support each child’s individual needs and comfort level.
Please have your child wear comfortable, movement-friendly clothing, sunscreen, and closed toed shoes. Please bring a bike, helmet, and water bottle. Balance bikes, such as Strider bikes, are recommended for children who are still learning balance and bike control. Don’t have a bike? No worries! Just let us know when you register if your child needs to borrow one.
